With a star dish that in its broth exalts all the flavour of the Canary Islands sea
CATEGORY: traditional fish restaurant
This is one of those recommendations of which we are truly proud. Because this restaurant is not only out of the classic tourist routes and away from conventional roads, but its cuisine embodies the simplicity and taste of Canarian cuisine in a single spoon dish. Hidden a few meters from the famous town of Garachico and decorated only with dozens of ferns that cascade the place green, each day they serve some fabulous "viejas en su caldo" (brothed parrot fish). The secret lies precisely in the broth prepared with the livers of the fish themselves, a sort of "marine foie gras", and obviously in the freshness of the viejas, freshly caught every morning and directly from the coast in front. Sometimes, if the sea is generous they also offer stewed octopus, shrimp and moray eels.
★ Always call in advance to ask if there is any fish, otherwise they won't open the restaurant: their motto is just fresh fish!
