The Cueva del vineto (Wind Cave) is a volcanic cavity that was formed 27,000 years ago in basaltic lavas during the first eruptive phase of the Pico Viejo volcano. Its name is due to the many air currents produced in its labyrinth of underground passages still unexplored..
At the moment, considering the 18 km that have been studied, it is the 5th longest volcanic tube in the world, in addition to stalactites and lava waterfalls, it has 190 known species, most of them invertebrates.
★ Ticket inlcudes a guided tour that begins in the visitor center, and runs through an oudoor lava field to the cave's entrance . Once inside,you must wear a helmet with flashlight.
The visits can be made in four languages: Spanish, English, French and German. Don´t forget to mark your preferences in the reservation from.
RILES AND CODITIONS
- Children under 5, people with clautrophobia and people can't make the visit.
- The maximum number of particpants is 14 people.
- You must wear long pants and hiking boots.
- Animals are not allowed.
- It is forbidden that you separate from the group.
- The cave ecosystem can not be altered and therefore is forbidden to leave garbage.
TIMETABLE
Summer
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00h to 19.00h.
Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.00h to 16.30 h.
Winter (October to March)
Everyday (except Thursday) from 9:00 to 17.00 h.
Thurday form 9:00 to 18.00 h.
